Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

| Question & Answers (General) |
| Q. Dear sextoys... what a great website.. but can i pay for my order using BPAY or cash? Alas, I do not have a credit card or cheque book. You won't get my business unless i can bpay you, or pay cash at an outlet in Brisbane. Cheers, Tim Roberts? |
(Posted: 7th Sept, 2004) |
A. Dear Tim,
Yes you can purchase from our site using cash. If you select the C.O.D option at checkout, your order will be shipped to you - Australia Post will leave a card to say there is a parcel for collection at your local post outlet and you can pay for the order with cash when you collect it. Simple and discreet - we use a staff member's name on the return address info so no-one will know what your delivery is. Any shipping costs will be deducted by our staff when your order is shipped.
Please go ahead and place your order, we'll take care of everything for you.
Regards,
Sophie

Q. Hi there,
Just wondering if it's okay to use a silicone lube with the silicone toys? |
(Posted: 22nd Sept, 2004) |
| A. Thanks for your question. The best advice is don't use silicone lube with silicone products as it tends to create a sticky surface, rather than the smooth effect of lube that you want. Water-based lubes are best for health and we recommend Sylk for women. You can use non-water-based lubes with Silicone products but save the silicone lubes for those non-silicone toys. |

| Q. Hi, I love the concept of silicone vac-u-lock dildos, but they are pricey for me. Do you sell the "slightly defective: toys at a reduced price, by any chance? If so, please email me your current inventory of imperfect toys and sale prices. Lynn? |
(Posted: 15th March, 2005) |
A. Thanks for your question.
The Downunder Toys Vac-U-Lock-adapted products are designed to add safety and value to the Vac system offered by another manufacturer.
Having tested the available dildos we were surprised that there were no silicone options, knowing, as we do, that the softened plastics used to make many dildos is dangerous for women to use internally.
The problem is not just the smell of those softened plastics, but the fact that the smell indicates that the chemicals are breaking down and oozing toxic gases. For such a great idea as the Vac-u-Lock system, we felt it was very important to offer some safe options, which is how our range came about.
Yes, the silicone is expensive - but be assured the cost is worth it. The silicone adpted product will never break down, be dangerous to use lose its ability to plug into the adaptor.
We don't sell our defective products - we just don't believe that is ethical. If you consider the high cost of buying a "realistic" latex or "real-feel"or "Tru-skin" dildo, only to have that product melt in your toybox, or worse, start rubbing off during use - the silicone products really do start looking more economical in the longer term, don't they?
I hope you will consider saving for a silicone toy to use with your Vac-U-Lock system, I urge you to consider the long term pleasure and safety of silicone - so you can play with confidence!
Thanks for your question. |

| Q. It says on the sensa-feel page that those models can be put in the microwave so that they heat up. Is this true for other solid silicone toys? |
(Posted: 27th April, 2005) |
| A. Thanks for your question. The answer is YES, any solid silicone product can be heated in a microwave. Our suggestion is that you heat the product for 2minutes max. although the properties of downunder toys' silicone will protect your product from over-heating, check the temperature by holding the product for at least 30 secs before you insert it into yours or your partners' body - safety first! |

| Q. Do you shipped international? |
(Posted: 2nd May, 2005) |
| A. Thanks for your email enquiry. Yes, we do international shipping. When you finalise your order you will be prompted to identify your country, so we can calculate shipping costs. Orders take no more than a week or so to get anywhere in the world. If you prefer to shop locally, just email us and we can advise you if there is a retailer near you which has our range of products. |

| Q. Does your hitachi magic wand come with two attachments and transformer? If not can you please itemise charges for wand, transformer and attachments? |
(Posted: 13th May, 2005) |
A. The wand package we offer has one silicone attachment, which is offered seperately on our site, but the transformer and wand are not offered seperately by us.
We have put this package together and calculated that there is a $30 minimum savings over purchasing each part seperately. |

| Q. Hi, can i pay by Bpay ? |
(Posted: 27th May, 2005) |
| A. Thanks for your enquiry. We do not currently have a Bpay facility, btu thanks for asking - we'll look into it. In the interim, you can pay for your order by direct deposit online, not as clever as Bpay, but just as effective! |

| Q. Could i pay using a money order? |
(Posted: 14th June, 2005) |
A. Yes you can!
This can be done either by selecting the "cheque" option in the ordering process or by selecting the "cash-on-delivery" option, which enables you to pay for the item when you collect it from your local post outlet. This method is totally discreet as we don't put any of our brand identity on the packaging.
If you select the "cheque" option, please be aware that we don't ship your order until the payment is received. Sending a money order is a good way to speed this process as it does not require bank clearance. |

| Q. How much does shipping cost? e.g. for the hitachi? |
(Posted: 14th June, 2005) |
| A. Our shipping charges a re based on the weight of your order. The Hitachi Wand kit is very heavy and shipping weight is 4.5kg so charges for that will be higher than for other items. |

Q. Hi
do your products have a warranty/guarantee? |
(Posted: 4th Oct, 2005) |
| A. Yes, we warranty our silicone parts for the life of the product, against manufacturing fault. Because we can't regulate what our customers do with the product, we can only offer the warranty on any fault in the manufacturing process. Take care of your toy as per our guidelines and you should be enjoying your Downunder Toys for many years! |

| Q. How can I view the estimated cost in US dollars, or is there no difference in the price? |
(Posted: 4th Oct, 2005) |
A. The great news for our US customers is that the $US is worth more than our local dollar - so, for a product valued at $AUD130, your cost is approx. $US101. based on our recent exchange rate of .78
We do not have the currency conversion software on our site, but thanks for asking, I will have our Web guys look into offering that option! |

| Q. Do you have any retailer in Sweden or Europe of Hot Rod? |
(Posted: 11th Oct, 2005) |

If you'd like to purchase a Hot Rod, you can place your order on our site and we will ship it to you right away. Yes, the shipping isn't cheap, but the online price is less than the Euro value, so you win a little and lose a little, but you get the best toy right now! |

| Q. I am a UK resident and use Paypal can this be used to pay for goods? |
(Posted: 3rd March, 2006) |
| A. Thanks for asking about Paypal. We applied to use that service but the organisation will not work with any vendor selling "adult" products, and they do not distinguish between those selling pornography and those of us working for a healthy approach to sexuality. Sorry, but I wish we could help - maybe you send an email to Paypal and express your concern over this discriminatory practise. |

| Q. Would import, customs duty or tax be payable in the UK? |
(Posted: 3rd March, 2006) |
| A. We do not know about the customs charges which may apply, but you have the VAT which may or may not be applied. You could shortcut the process by checking out our range at www.lovehoney.co.uk who have a selection of Downunder Toys. The nice folks at LoveHoney can also advise about taxes or other govt charges which may apply to your purchase |

| Q. What are typical dispatch and delivery timescales to the UK? |
(Posted: 3rd March, 2006) |
| A. We could ship an order from Australia and have it reach the UK in 7-10 days. How the customs or postal systems in the UK handle that, I am sorry but we don't know. On the other hand, you could place your order locally through www.lovehoney.co.uk and have the goods delivered without big shipping costs, within a much shorter timeframe. |

| Q. Hello there, I was just wondering how I should clean the Hitachi Magic Wand, and the Pleasure Dome? |
(Posted: 26th March, 2006) |
A. Hi and thanks for your email.
The hitachi wand should be unplugged before you go anywhere near water with it - you can leave the Pleasure Dome on the wand and use mild soap and hot water - rinse the dome off and shake dry - try not to get any water under the dome or down the stem of the wand. You could also remove the dome and give it a thorough clean, even boil it in water for a couple of minutes to sterilize the rubber. With the wand, use a damp cloth to wipe off any body fluids, do not immerses the wand in water as this will destroy the electics! |

Q. Do you have any retailers or on-line dealers in the U.S. for your vac-u-lock silicon products?
Thanks,
Alexis? |
(Posted: 1st March, 2007) |
| A. Thanks for the question -we can supply any retailer with the Vac-u-loc products but none of our regular customers have stock of them right now - the fastest way to get a Silicone Vac-U-Loc product is to buy from our online store and we can have it to you within ten days. |

| Q. Do you offer 'firmness' adjustment on existing toys? (I realise it'd involve simple replacement of it, but I'm curious), my Boy 3 is far harder than my Boy 2...? |
(Posted: 4th Oct, 2007) |
A. Thanks for your question - we can make toys with a custom density or hardness, but generally have differing hardness on toys for performance purposes.
We sometimes trial new types of silicone to see how they perform - it's possible you have a sample product which passed a quality test for sale, but which may be slightly harder or softer than other products of the same size. |
| Back to Top |
Q. Can I just confirm - do the vac-u-lock toys have a hole at the base of them that allows them to attach to the harness? Like the dildos that are sold with the actual harness? Is this how it attaches to the harness?
Cheers
JF? |
(Posted: 13th Feb, 2008) |
| A. All of the Vac-U-Lock adapted toys will fit in any harness if they are attached to a vac-u-lock plug that has a flared base. For those using Downunder toys with a Vac-u-lock harness and plug set, yes, our toys will work in that system. |
